Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 5, 2026
Fluvaro Guide ("Fluvaro", "we") is a progressive web application (PWA) that aggregates real-time fishing data for Quebec. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
1. Data We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Account information — name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form)
- Preferences — language and display theme
- Subscription data — if you subscribe to a Pro plan, billing information is managed by Stripe (see Third-Party Services section)
We do not collect any location data, advertising identifiers, or use any third-party analytics tracking.
2. Local Storage
Fluvaro uses your browser's storage technologies to provide an offline experience:
- IndexedDB — local cache of fishing data (flow rates, tides, etc.) for instant access
- localStorage — stores your preferences (light/dark theme, language)
- Service Worker + Cache API — caches pages and resources for offline functionality
This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. No third-party cookies are used.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery network (CDN), and security protection. Cloudflare may collect technical data (IP address, HTTP headers) to ensure service security. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. We never store your credit card information. All payment data is processed directly by Stripe. Stripe Privacy Policy
- Google — OAuth authentication (optional). If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from your Google profile. Google Privacy Policy
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request complete deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at info@fluvaroguide.com. We will process your request within a reasonable timeframe.
Locally cached data (IndexedDB, Service Worker) can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
5. Children's Privacy
Fluvaro is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page regularly.
